How To Really Enjoy a Bar Management Class
Thursday, September 29, 2011
This was my article for our bar management magazine project. It was really fun to do even though I hate writing and designing which I both do not have any talent for. I just realized on how much I miss my bar management classes already. And wine is not really something I would enjoy. I don't even like the taste. But I'll never know.
I saw how my article said to bring a camera. That made me think of bringing it tomorrow for my wine appreciation classes. Hihi. Now I'm kind of excited. :>
A September Typhoon
Tuesday, September 27, 2011
Today classes were suspended thanks to Typhoon Pedring. Too bad. I know we all hate going to class, but it's better than all the flood happening. Since I have nothing to post, I'll just post a picture! A flower. Typical. =))
What I Got From my EUROTUR Homework

Egypt is in the Middle East even though it's in the African continent!
Egypt is considered to be in the Middle East
due to their culture and international ties with the Arabian Peninsula. The
country is part of the Arab world and is greatly involved in the Middle Eastern
politics. Many of the citizens of the country are Muslim who also conduct their
pilgrimages in the Middle East.
Russia's landmass is huge, but it's part of Europe.
Majority of Russia’s landmass is located in
Asia but it is considered a part of Europe for cultural reasons. The Slavic, or
the ethnic Russian, are purely European culturally. The majority of the
population lives in the European part of the country as well. In terms of
politics, the former USSR premise is also located in Europe.
Turkey is European.
Turkey is considered a part of Europe even
though its landmass spreads on both the European and Asian continent. However, the
country has been recently adopting the ways of the West or Europe. Turkey has
been integrated with Europe by being a member of several organizations such as
Council of Europe and the European Union.
Even if Switzerland is in the middle of all those European countries, it is not one of them.
Switzerland is not part of Europe because she
refused to be a member of the European Union based on two principles which is
democracy and neutrality. Switzerland has been in a neutral stance and avoiding
creating alliances with other countries since 1815 and the citizens have also
voted on rejecting to be a member of the EU.
All information and pictures are from google search. I do not own anything of the information here.
I just had to write a blog entry about the story I'm about to tell since I want to reminisce about this. So I'll just write on what happen today from 2:40-4:10 which was my INTELAW class.
The professor announced that we were going to have a test on all topic from the beginning to the last topic which was the Treatment of Aliens. She never told us that we were going to have a test on all topics. We decided last meeting that we were only going to have a test on topic we were reporting. The whole class even voted on it. I think she forgot that she said that. She kept saying that she never mentioned that. But a classmate talked to her and the professor agreed to move the test on Wednesday.
Then when we were about to start the discussion, my other classmates came in late and kind of delayed the whole class. Suddenly one classmate told the professor that it was flooded in his area and caused him to be late. The professor and that latecomer had an argument of some sort. (Which I think triggered the professor)
Next, when the professor was finally discussing. She asked the class a question. No one answered her question. Another strike. Last, when she was talking again. There were two girls who chatted noisily which annoyed the professor. The next thing we knew, she shouted at the class, cursed at us and walked out. Before exiting the door, she said we'll be having our test after 30 minutes. What was annoying was that she came back in 5 minutes and told us that we were going to have our test already.
I was a bit annoyed since I was not able to answer the questions. However, I guess no one is to blame. I should have memorized the lessons.
However, I wasn't annoyed at the professor because of that. It was our group's turn to report our topic Treatment of Aliens. Each group mate had their own topic to read and report on. Although, I had a group mate who was not fluent in English and could not pronounce words properly. So as he was reading his report, he could not pronounce some words and was chuckling when he couldn't read it. But that's just the way he is. He laughs at the world. Maybe to save himself from embarrassment but that is what makes him unique. The professor then made a comment that he did not prepare. She said that it was obvious that it was his first time reading it that he can't even pronounce other words. That was a foul. It was not totally an issue of the person's diligence, but his being already. It just pissed me off on how she's judging my group mate because of that.
And that's how the class ended. Oh yeah, my group mate apologized to me which I thought was unnecessary. Why apologize for something you did not intentionally do. It was naturally like that. Anyhow, another international law class on Wednesday. I hope nothing like that happens ever again.

Can I Trust You?

Today, batch 109 had their last YHE teambuilding. It's sad but true. I was only supposed to be there half a day only, but since it was our last I asked my mom if I could stay. Thankfully, she approved. It was a really fun experience. I mean, playing games again. Things have been recently so stressful. I guess I can thank YHE for helping me decrease the stress.
So highlights of the team building for me was the amazing race, chicken teriyaki and trust fall. The amazing race was really fun. The truth is I hate doing that, but something about the race was fun. Maybe it was because I wasn't a participant. HAHA. I was just a runner. We were the Poseidon group with mostly 110 people. I think all of them were from batch 110. Good thing we were not the last group to finish. The group took too long at the God of War challenge, too bad. But still fun. \m/
Chicken teriyaki was delicious. PERIOD. I'm really amazed at the batchmates. I mean they were able to cook something so yummy. And last was the trust fall. I experienced the trust fall during the batch 107 last teambuilding. We did the activity and it was quite fun confusing the people around. However, there was this one girl that I pushed that really made my trust fall experience unforgettable. When I was about to push the girl, of course I asked the question. Do you trust me? And she answered yes. The moment I pushed her, she held on to my arms and she brought me down. Good thing we already had a bed. If not, I would have been seriously injured. So yes. Quite an experience. And that meant that she didn't trust me. =))
Fun day. Too bad I don't have pictures yet. I'll update this once the photog committee uploads the pictures. :>

Things I miss
Friday, September 23, 2011
It's not a recent picture. But I miss these days when I used to hang out with these people. This was taken at 7th High in the Fort Bonifacio. I went here after my fine dining event. It was actually a bad night, I felt sick and all. But it was a fun night nonetheless. It was actually my first time to enter a VIP area of any club or bar. It felt cool being on the top floor seeing all those people crowding while we had so much space. Well, I hope this happens again soon. :> We all have been very busy and we haven't hung out like this recently. Maybe after a few months, this will happen again and I'm already excited. :D
Wicked

So we had this school play when I was in high school. I played as Elpaba and my friend was Glinda. It was such a good experience. I'm not really the best singer nor actress out there. I mean, I don't always get the notes right and I say my lines like it was too rehearsed. But I was so happy to be cast as one of the lead. This will be an experience I'll never forget.
I miss the stage. I don't regret joining. And what I regret is that I didn't continue the play when I was in the sixth grade. What the funny thing was about the play was I never did really memorize all my lines. But it was good that I was able to remember some of my lines.
So there's this guy who's beside me in the picture and he's going to leave tomorrow for the United States. It's quite sad that he's leaving. I'm not really affected. I don't even think I'm going to miss him too much. =))
But he's a good friend. He's someone who I could tell my problems to. Not all my problems, only certain problems like organization problems, practicum problems. Basically, school problems. He gets along with everyone. And he's a really helpful guy. I mean, when I need help especially last term in my bar management subject, he's always there to help. And! When I needed help with my flair tending, he's there to help. Though I suck at it. HAHA. I have this certain flair memory with him. Last time when I went to this bar seminar and lots happened etcetera. And when I asked him to teach him a certain move (Throw Behind the Back), he did not leave my side. And he even made like a strategy to help me to do it. He stepped on both my feet. Actually, just one foot. He asked someone else to step on my other foot. Anyway, back to the topic. He noticed that I bend when I should just twist my body.
If you want drinking games, he has all kinds. I'm exaggerating. I'll miss our drinking times 'cause of his hilarious games and the memories that come with it. So yeah. We'll probably talk through Skype of facebook. And if ever he read this (which is probably impossible 'cause I won't even mention his name here so it won't appear in google or what), I'll miss him. See him after a year. And when he gets back, we should definitely eat at Aycee already.
